4. REI,IOVAL OF TREE ON Et CAiIINO REAL AUTHORIZSD
A communication from the City Manager, dated L{arch l-5, 1959, advised
that a request for pormlsslon to renove two Eucalyptus troes on El
Camino ReaI for purposes of constructing a drlveway lnto a new apart-
ment bull-dlng on Lot 27, Bl-ock 1, Burl lngame Park No. 4, has been
consialered by the Park Conmission, subsequent to whlch lt tras recon-
menCed that permisslon be granted for the removal- of one Eucalyptustree (tho third from tho northerly 1ot line) at thls time.
Following a brief discusslon whereby lt was ascertaLned that the
prooosed plan was the only reaslble way to place a d.rl\reway, Councilman
Rooth moved that permission be granted to Wiflard N. Drown, the appll-
cant, for the renovaf of one tree, seconded by Courrcllman Thayer and
ulanimousIy c arrl ed.
5. ADVTSORY PLANNING COI]NCIL MEETING ON RE'LAIUATION
A comrnunication fron the San ldateo County Advisory Planning Councllt
dated March 10, 1959, exten-ring an invitation to the Councl,I to attond

A commurricatlon, <latod February 2'l , 1959, was received from the Boardof Supervlsors, announcLng tho fornation of a Peni.nsul-a Hlghway PoLlcy
Committee of Supervlsors ard. City Councllmen, to work with the State
I{lghway officials on the deslgn and beautificatlon of the firnLpero
Serra Freeway project and inviting a representatlve of the Clty of
Burl inqame to serve as a member of said Committee.
C ounc l1rnan Thayer, previously appointed by the Councll as its rep-resentative on matters pertalnlng to the Junipero Serra Freeway,
advLsed that the new commlttee supersedes a forrFr comnittee and
prcposes to include repr6sentatives from three cormties; namely, San
Francisco, Sen Mateo ard Santa CLara. Councll-man Thayer was authorized,
to contlnue to represent the Clty of Burl-lngame.
