Avenue. Rlchand Zahm, Archltect, advlsed that the Contractor, unable to be 1n attendance at thLs hour, has lndLcated a btd for th6 con-stt'uctlon of the basement in the sum of $121190.00 (plus or: mlnus. ) Refernlng to four polnts to be stlpulated by the Contractor wlth the submlsslon of the basoment constructlon bld, as nequested by Councllman l4artln at the reguLar meetlng, October 2, Archltect Zahm advlsed that lf constr:ucted, the basement w111 lnclude (1) a net usable area of 911 squano feet; (2) a net area of 10lr squarefeet for a park!,ng rrter malntenance room; (J) two dlvlded areas, one for the stonage of large artlcles (rtgs, furnlture, etc.) andthe second for the storage of srnall-slzed artlcles; end (h) tne bas6rpnt w111 not lnclude C1vl1 Defense 'rfallouttt equlpment. Some dlscussLon arose on the subJect of the bulldlng plans Lnrelatlon to future expansion. Archltect Wandnayer advised that the second floor has been tlesigned to permlt furthe:: expanslon; howevor, expansLon of theflrsi floo:r arsa would be less d.eslrable because of the location'of the parklng faclllty. The archltect continued, statlng that on that basls, the constructlon of a basement to provlde future expansion 1f needed., was consldered a desirablo p1an.
