RESOLUTION NO. 125-2022
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
CANCELING THE FIRST CITY COUNCIL MEETING IN JANUARY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Burlingame Municipal Code Section 2.04.010: regular meetings
of the City Council are on the first and third Monday of each month, but the City Council may
cancel or reschedule a regular meeting by a vote of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, if the first or third Monday of the month is a City holiday, the City Council
meeting will be held on a day later in the week; and
WHEREAS, the first Monday in January 2023 is January 2, which is a government
holiday and therefore moves the first City Council meeting in January to January 3; and
WHEREAS, the end of December and early January is always a busy time of the year due
to holidays and student breaks; and
WHEREAS, the date of the first meeting in January creates issues when trying to finalize
agenda packets and when ensuring transparency of important City issues; and
WHEREAS, the issues relating to the first meeting in January 2023 are not unique to the
year and instead are seen regularly for the first meeting in January of each year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The first City Council meeting in January is cancelled for 2023 and for future years.

that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
17th day of October, 2022, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:

ORTIZ
