HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 122-2022RESOLUTION NO. 122-2022 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF MILLBRAE AND SPIN FOR A MULTIJURISDICTIONAL ELECTRIC BICYCLE SHARING PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF MILLBRAE WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame seeks to provide safe and affordable multi-modal transportation options to all residents, reduce traffic congestion, improve local air quality, and advance carbon free mobility; and WHEREAS, a Multijurisdictional Bicycle Sharing Program (Program) in partnership with the City of Millbrae would provide an alternative clean transportation option to connect residents, visitors, and employers with destinations across Burlingame and Millbrae; and WHEREAS, the Program would support the City’s Climate Action Plan goals to provide an alternative to vehicle trips and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and WHEREAS, the City completed a Request for Proposal process for the Program, and staff recommends selecting Spin to install, operate, and maintain the Program with the Cities Burlingame and Millbrae; and WHEREAS, the Program will be implemented at no cost to Burlingame or Millbrae; and WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame intends to apply the grant award received from the San Mateo County Transportation Authority for the implementation of the Program toward supporting and enhancing the Program, and WHEREAS, in order to effectively and efficiently administer the Program the City of Burlingame and City of Millbrae wish to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding outlining their roles and responsibilities in the Program. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with the City of Millbrae and Spin for a Multijurisdictional Electric Bicycle Sharing Program. 2. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Millbrae. 3.
