A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS – BROADWAY PEDESTRIAN STREET LIGHTING
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT BY BAY AREA LIGHTWORKS, INC.
CITY PROJECT NO. 85000
WHEREAS, in November 2016, the City submitted an application for funding under the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s One Bay Area Grant 2 (OBAG2) Transportation for
Livable Communities (TLC) Program for the Broadway Pedestrian Street Lighting Improvements
Project; and
WHEREAS, on August 16, 2021, the City Council awarded the Broadway Pedestrian
Street Lighting Improvements Project to Bay Area Lightworks, Inc., in the amount of $698,500;
and
WHEREAS, the project consisted of replacing the existing light poles and fixtures with
new; installing new light poles, fixtures, and foundations; new conduits; new utility boxes and
wiring; and restoration work along Broadway between El Camino Real and Rollins Road; and
WHEREAS, the Broadway Pedestrian Street Lighting Improvements Project has been
satisfactorily completed in compliance with the project plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the completed work included replacement of 21 street light poles and
fixtures, installation of 19 new lighting poles and fixtures, and associated electrical and
restoration work, and the final project construction cost is $697,499, which is $1,001 below the
base contract award amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame,
California, and this Council does hereby find, order and determine as follows:
1. The Director of Public Works of said City has certified the work done by Bay Area
Lightworks, Inc., under the terms of its contract with the City dated August 26, 2021, has been
completed in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and to
the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works.
2. Said work is particularly described as City Project No. 85000.
3. Said work be and the same hereby is accepted.
