A cmunication from the City lianager, dated April 1, 1965, referred
council to copies of the County's standard Pood Ordinance and a report
frou the County Eealth Department on the statua of tie ordinance
throughout the Court]r.

ted to Council uDder date of December L2, 195A, subnitting copies of a
Food Ordinance in a form adopted by the City of san ltateo and advising
that the san llateo Ordinance differs from the County ordinance in ttre
following particularE c (1) bake sales are not proh j.bited; (2) no feea
are required; (3) peruits are obtained from the City and (4) the Board
of Revi* is local.
?flre city Attorney advised that a local 'Food Ordinance " prepared in
1958 was patterned clo8ely to that of the county, with the exception
that the City Council was to serve aa the 'Board of Reviewu; that
Council at that time, were of the opinion that food egtablishDent feea
erere not appropriately apportioned, and regulations pertaining to the
sale of food ehould not affect "bake' sales conducted b!, churdres and
si.ldlar organizations.
Ithe City Attorney, in reply to inquiries, Btated tlrat food establishrent

required to enforce tJre ordinance are conducted lry the County Eealth

by the county Eealth Department and "non-profit" organizations undergo
periodic inspections.
Folloring a brief discussion, the subject wae referred to the xay 5,
1955 Council study session for further consideration.
4. RECREATION FACILITT REPORT
A comunication from the City ltanager, dated April 1, 1955, advised
that ttr. Charles iI. Reitz, Distriet Representative of the Pacific
Southwest District of the National Recreation Association, has recently
reviewed a }ist of the City's recreation and park facilities and ha6
inspected the area proposed for ttre development of a golf course.
A written report fr@ l,tr. Reitz, dated ltarch 31, 1965, accopanying
the comunication fr@ the City lttanager, recmended the eDployEent
of a qualified person to aasist the City in the developnent of agolf course.

that reEol,utions have been prepared for subuission to the gousing aDd

as complete.
