BAYSIDE IMPROVEI,IENT DISTRIqT NO 3
ltayor George announced that this wae the time and place scheduled,
purauant to provisions aet forth in Reeolution No. 50-66, to conduct
a public hearing on proposed acquleitlona and improeeuenta for Bayslde
IEProveEent District t{o. 3.
!{r. Kennet}r I. Jones, Attorney, representing the Bayside Improvenent
District, in reply to Councilnan llartinr a inquiries concerning the
proposed legislation to cancel a portion of the asseaament of the
Reclanation District No. 2097, explailed in considerable detail, the
conplex issueg ttrat have ariaen in detenrining the extent and boundaries
of the District, including lmprovements and the incunbent coata to
construct Lang Ifoad and Beach Road, proportionately ehared by the
property orrners, and, by reason of the condition of the current finan-
cial market, the conclusion that a leaser aaaeasment wouLd meet all
incurred obligations.
In further reply to Councilnan uartin, !t!. Jonea stated that if the
$33,642.00 in cancelled aa8es3menta ie required at a Later date, the
bond holderg have the privilege of levying eupplemental asseaaments
on the property to finance the rork.
Folloving further discusgion wherein llr. Jonea explained the differences
between an 'aaaearDent" district and a "reclanation" district, Councilmanltartin questioned the City Attorney for an opinion on the legialation
propoaed to proceed with the District.
Ihe City Attorney expresaed hie approval with the language enbodied
within the resolutions prepared by the Attorney for the District,
confiraing that the City of Burlingame will assume no liability.

Referrlng to the report addreased to the Water Quality Control Board
under date of August 26, L956, a copy of utr ich was received by Council,
the City ltanager advised that al:, the requirenentr echeduled to be
c@pleted try Septenber 1. 1966. are included and it yas the r€G@-
mendation of the Director of Public tlorks and his Office that the
report be approved and transoitt€d to the Water Qual ity CoDtroI Board.

on hotels and notels" and requesting the reaction of cities within
the County adopting the room occupancy ta)( to the euggeation that the
"cities share with the County on the basis of fifty percrnt of their
receipta . "

that cities withln the Northern Councll have indicated the revenue
sill bc rctained for its exclusive and particular purgroae.
Hayor ceorge stated that it is intended to deposit the revenue within
the ceneral Eund for expenditure at the discretion of Council.
