PIOMBO DIRT HAI'L The minutes of the regular meetlng of September 18' L967, anended to record that Councll authorlzed the Clty Englneer to incresse the range of the Cltyrs sldewalk repalr program in an auount not to ex- ceed the fiscal budget, rrere approved on motion of Counc l lnan l'tartln and seconded by Counc llnan Johnson. The Chalr recognized Mr. Duncan Beardsley, Chairman, Burltngane Citi- zens I Comlttei, who in turn gave a brlef regqr.t on the functions of the comittee in promoting the forthcoming afilf 10' 1957 Sewer Bond Election, the llst of organlzatlons endorsing the ProPosal and the establlshnent of a t'telephone bank" to contact the electorate on the day preceeding and on the day of the election. PUBLIC TIEARINCS ilayor Diederichsen, ln announc Lng, the continuance of a public hearing on the appeal of the Pioobo Construction Company to route a dirt haul on Trousdale Drive, expressed the preference of Council that the hearing again be continued until the preaence of a full Council . Mr. Luther M. Carr, Attorney, representing the appellanta, stated there would be no objection to a postponement. For the lnforoation of Council, Mr. Carr stated that no dirt has been removed to date and that there ls stlll a questlon concerning the aEount that lrill be routed to the airport; the State has oade aspeclal concession in pernltttng the use of Crystal Sprlngs Road laas- much as the L9th Avenue Freeway has not been coopleted. Mr. Carr advised that the City of San Mateo has refused perotssionto use its streete because of dirt hauls currently in progress !nthat City but will authorlze the use of Crystal Springs Road to El Camino Real rrlth trucks to proceed on El Camlno Real ln a northerly d irec t lon . To an inqulry from the Chair, Mr. Carr reported that he has been In-formed that soil for airport usage ls being re-t€sted and it has been estimated thst approxiuately [50,000 to 200,000 cubic yards willbe removed from the construction slte.
