PROPOStsD N)DRESS CIIANGES WI TTIIN AIIZA PACIFIC @II{PI.BX A cmnunication frm the City Engineer, dated Novembe r 26, L959,referred to a request received fro{r the Consolidated TeBt and Equip- ment, Inc., 1330 Bayshore Eighray, dated Novelober 21, 1969, that consideration be given to changing address nunbers in several locationsin the Anza Pacific cqtrplex. the City Engineer adviEed that his office has investigated and reconunend sthat in the interest of improving the nurdbering system and to facilitateFire Department and other departments concerned with the addresses,the changes be approved. Ur. David Keyston, Anza Pacific CorP. developer and owner of the 1330 Bayahore llighway corplex, advised that the consolidated Test and Equilhent, Inc. initially obj ected to the proposed change in the street name to 'Airport Boulevard' but with the Anza Pacific Corporation's acceptance of the proposed addresg change, the obJection waa withdraqrn. Mr. Keyston expreased a preference that bottr the proposed change in the Etreet name and the proposed change of addressea occur simultaneously. council concurred and an action on the subj ect request rras withheldpending receipt of a rec@rendation frorn ttre Planning Comission with respect to the changre in the atreet name frqa "old Bayshore Highway "to "Nrport Boulevard. Warren L. Simronds, President, Tia l{aria, appealing the conditions tlrat \rere attached by the P1anni.ng Cmds-sion in approving a uee permit for the conEtruction of a Tia Maria Restaurant on the OId Bayshore Highway, waE acknowledged and apublic hearing on the appeal was scheduled on l,Ionday, December 15. 5. BER-RICH INCORPORATED APPLICATION DAIICE PERIi{IT A cmrnuni cati on received fron Ber-Rich, Incorporated, eigned byBert Bird8a11, Vice-Preeident, Secretary-Treasurer, on November 25, 1969, requeated the continuance of a dance pernit iseued to the former Pub So-Ho, located at 1316 Brcdhay, and operated by t}le frankocorporation. Inspection reports were received frm the Poliee Department and fromthe Fire Department, with a report frqn the Health Deparuoent as yet unavailable. An action was withheld until December 15, 1969, with the City Clerk requested in the interim to furnish Council with a copy of theconditions under which the Pub So-Ho rras granted a dance permit. 6. PARK-RECREATION COMI,IISSION RECOMT{EI{D ING NEI{ DOG ORDINANCE A comnunication waa read from the Burlingame Park and Recreation Cormission, dated November 24,. 1969, sutrui tting the folloring motion unaninously adopted at its roeeting on Novernber 18r 1959: '(hePark and Recreation Comni ssion recmrends tlre d rarring up of a new dog ordinance to include: 'It shall be unlawful for any ort ner orperaon having custody or control of any dog to permit or allov, auch dog to be within or upon any park, whether or not such dog isproperly licensed and leashed.'" fhe subi=t was reserved for consideration at the Council study meeting, Wedneaday, Decenber 3. 7. In concluding his report to council, the City Engineer advised thatthe sum of S21,OOO,OOO.00 hag been allocated to the state of california,that any project approved will require a high priority rating andthat the only proj ect under which the city of Burlingame may quali fywill be the Broadrray crade separation project. llhe City Engineer wag authorized to continue to represent the interestsof the City. 10. BURLINGAI{E PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD RECOI{MENDING ACCEPTATiICE H'II,DTNG PIANS 1?8 In responEe to an inquiry from tie Chair concerning the reductionof the speed limit of fifty miles Per hour currently in effect in that area, the Chief of Police advised that a current investigation being conducted by his departnent, recclruoend I the reduction in the speed lirait and that upon conpletion of the survey, a detailed report will be submitted to council. NEW H'STNESS 1 GARAGE SAIJS Counci lman Anstrup spoke of his concern relative to a glrage saLein operation for several montlrs in the area of Uartinez Drive and Trousdale Drive. tlhe City Planner advised that the lituni cipal Code does not includea category for "garage saleai and suggested that in vLew of thepopularity and prevalence of such sales, an amendment to the zoning code setting forth guidelines may be appropriate. RECRE,ATION CENTER ADDI?IONS ayor Uartin referred to the advertisement of bids authorized by the Architect for tl:e congtruction of the Recreation Centeradditions with bidg seheduled for opening on Wednesday, Dece,ruber 1O and to eeveral inadequacies in the building plans reported by theBuilding InaPector. r?e tte Brilding Inspector, in attendance, enunerated the items orritted frqr the plan and in conflict with code requirements and cmented that the plans had not been presented to his officefor revierr prior to the advertisement for bids. the Chair recomended that an addenda to the bid proposaLs be issued by Friday, Decedber 5 and that the opening of bids be seheduled in the afternoon rather than on the morning of December 1O. fhe city Engineer was directed to cqlununi oEe with the architectto request his appearance in the Office of the Building InsPector by noon, lhesday, Dece ber 2 and the Fire Chief was requested toinstruct the Fire Inspector to alao review the construction planE for possible omissions and corrections. Further discussion concluded with the city Engineer suggestingthat to avoid a future incident, couneil inEtruct architects tofurnish copies of their plans to the Fire and guilding Departments before plans go out for bid.
