above given date.

Proposals for fixed seating in the new Burlingame City Hall Council

were baEed upon the purchase of L22 chairs with 48 ash tlays,
coropletely installed irith the manufacturer'E standard fabricgelecti on.
Representatives from the American Seating Cdnpany were identified
as being the only bidders present to ccrutrent on their sample display.
From counci.l inqui.ries to the Arnerican Seating Coiopany repreaentauive,it was ascertained that delivery could be made approxiroately II5 days
from a dete the details on the order become finalized.
A discussion on the type of fixed seating appropriate for in8tallationin the new Council Chanbers uas interrupted by Ehe appearance of a
representative fron Ciararden, who placed on display severrl of hig
manufacturer's sample product.
llhe featurea of each type s.mple on display having been revieqred and
considered, uayor ltartin questioned the pleasure of Council.
Councilman ceorge moved that the bid submitted by the lnerican seating
company, for L22 chairs with 48 ash trays, identified on the proposal
shee! aa "Model 22-2L5 Stellar' in the total amount of $9,052.0O, be
accepted, subject to the follcrring conditions: 11) that delivery ofthe fixed seating occur within Il5 days from date details are completed,
and (2) Itrat a $50.00 per day penalty fee be imposed upon the
manufacturer for failure to deliver irithin the specified period of
time.

1[he Chief of Police explained the procedure in effect in the city of
Burlingane, stating that the city Attorney, upon presentation of
