ADJOURNED MEETING

Mayor Pro Tempore Crosby announced that the adjourned meeting had
been scheduled for the purpose of considering the application of the
Le Baron tlotel for an entertainment and dance permit in the operation
of the vIP Lounge.

In reply to an inquiry from the Chair, the Fire Chief advised
the hotel orrrner would be expected to isolate the construction
from the eoffee shop and the VIP Lounge.
Ihe Building Inspector reported that the coffee shop and the lounge
were in satisfactory condition to operate and the city uanager con-
fj-rmed that the county Health Department has also indicated approval .
Mr. Hugh connolly, Attorney, representing the Le Baron Hotel interesta,
introduced ltlr. Kenneth R. Riley, r,tho in turn, advised that I1r. Frank
Almeida lras the general manager, responsible for the operation of the
hotel and that the organization had been officially incorporated under
the name of the "Hote1 Circle, Inc."
Mr. Connolly advised, as a matter of record, that the hotel had
conunitments and reservations for the use of the first five floors by
August 15, and that the wo rk schedule was programmed by the owners to
fully complete this particular area for occupancy by that date.
The applicants having met the requirements of the City codes and health
regulations, Councilman Amstrup moved that an entertainment and dance
permit, in the operation of the vIP Lounge, be approved, seconded by
Councilman ceorge and unanimously carried.
The city Attorney requested that Council authorize his office to take
such action that may be necessary to enjoin violations of the code,
should an oceasion arise prior to the next Council meeting.
Council thereafter concurred lrith the request.
ADJOURNIIIENT The meeting was regularly adjourned at 8:5o p.m

The city Attorney informed Councj.l that eonsiderable confusion had
been created by a lack of communication betrreen members of the city
staff and the management of the Le Baron Hotel and that it had been
necessary to deliver a rrritten notice to the oqrTter that all regulations
must be observed .
