D.Ir{artin, who announced that Council would also re-organize for the coming year on this occasion. PLEDGE OF ALLEG IANCE At hrord from the Chair, all in the Council Chamber arose and gave the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. D. &tartin and Victor A. Mangini were certified as being elected Counci lmen of the City of Burlingame, Councilman crosby and Councilman Martin for the full four-year term and Councilman Manginifor the tlvo-year term. llhe measure submitted to the voters having received 1, 189 "yes" votes and 2,318 "no" votes, was declared defeated. Ilhe oath of office was thereafter administered to newly elected Council- man Cros\2, Councilman }tartin and Councilrnan uangini and each assumedtheir position on the council rostrum. EI,ECTION CIIAT RMAN-MAYOR Nominations were declared open by Mayor Martin for the position of Ctrai rman of the Council and Mayor of the city of Burlingame counci lman Johnson placed the name of councilman William J. crosby in nomination and there beinqr no further ndninations, a unanimous ballot vras cast for Councilman CrosbD/ as Chai rman of the Council and Mayor of the city of Burlingame for the forthcoming year. ELECTION MAYOR PRO TEIIPORE Noninations were declared open by the Chair for the position of Chairman- llayor Pro Tempore. Counci lman Crosby placed the name of Counci lman Irving S. Amstrup in nornination and there being no further nominations, a unanimous ballot vras cast for Councilman Amntrup as Chai rman-I{ayor Pro Tempore for the forthcoming year. P RE SENTATI ON counci lman Crosby, on behalf of Couneil, presented Immediate Past !,!ayor Ittartin !,ri th a thermoneter, mounted on an enscribed plaque, extolling his leadership during the year just eompleted. councilman t{artin accepted the gift from council and expressed his appreeiatiori on having been given the opportunity to serve and his pride in the strides made by the City by the acquisition of the new City Hall and more particularly, the new Sevrage ?reatment Plant. Trhe gavel was thereafter presented by Councilman !,lartin to Mayor crosby, who assumed his position as Chairman of the Board and lvlayor of the city of Burlingame. INTRODUCTTONS - ADJOURNMEMT Mayor Crosby expressed his atE rebiltio and thanks to the electorate uponhis re-eleetion to the City Couneil and to Council for his appointment as Chairman-Mayor. An exchange of felicitations and the introduction of Council and membersof their families present, concluded the business of the evening and the meeti.ng was adjourned at 8:55 p.m. by t{ayor crosby.
