Frey, D.V.M., formally withdrawing his application for a special permil to operate a small animal ctinic at 1101 Juanita Avenue. After an explanation from the Chair of the consequences of an unfinished hearing tonight, because of Councilman Amstruprs absence and the possibility of new people on the Council after the March 5 election, Mr. Keyston indicated he was amen- able. There being no objections voiced by the Council, the Chair decl-ared the hearing continued to the meeting on March L8, 1974. COMIIUN ICATIONS 1. There will be some disruption of Airport roads, necessitating detour construction. Cost of the detour is included in the contract and is the contractor's responsibility. 3. There may be property taxes that the City of Burlingame will be required to pay, because of its use of the land or the instaltation of improvements therein. This is normal procedure where one agency occupies the land of another. It was pointed out that the City of Burlingame pays real estate taxes t.o the San Francisco Water Department on the leased parcels used for off-street parking. 13-l RESoLUTIoN No. 12-74 "Airports Corunission City And County Of San F?anEisco; tanffipermit" was introduced by Counc ilman Crosby, who moved its adoption, second by Councilman Mangini and unani- mously carried on rol-l- call of members present. The City Manager was directed to withhold signing the Permit until notified that the City of Millbrae has approved its Land Use Per- mit with the Airports Commission. 2. PASSAGE OF RESOLUTION FOR CERTIFICATION TO METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISS ION Two comnunications from the City Manager dated February 27, 1974, concerned filinq a claim $rith MTC for funds to be used for the initiation of Burlingame Transit System during the fiscal year JuIy 1, 1974 through June 30, 1975, in the amount of $182,650.00. The City Manager submitted for the Council's approval copies of the supporting documents to be forwarded with the claim, compiled by the City's Transportation officer, as follows: Budget Surnmary FY 73-74 & 74-75, Proposed Routes, Proposed Fare Schedule, Consents from neighboring cities and the county for their additional allo- cation for service of periphery areas close to Burlingame routes. In response to Mayor Martin, Mr. Swan, Transportation Officer, reported it is his understanding that it is possible to modify the claim as to routes or fares any time prior to June, 1974, should the Council decide to do so. RESOLUTION NO. 13-74 "Authorizing And Directing Filing of Applica- tion With Metropolitan Transpor tation Commission Eor Disbursement of Punds For Transportation Requirements Of The Ci.ty Of BurJ.ingame" was introduced by Councilman Mangini, who moved its adoption, second by Councilman Crosby, and unanimously carried on ro11 call of members present. 4. APPEAL HEARINGS SCHEDULED (a) In a corununication dated February 28, L974, Mr. Glen Crum, Empire Permit Systems, oakland, filed an appeal from the conditions of the variance granted by the Planning Commission in connection with a sign display at Dick Bultis Chevrolet, 100 California Drive. A hearing before the City Council was scheduled for the regular meeting on March 18, 1974. (b) Mr. Spencer Covey, President, Covey Trucking Company, filed an appeal under date of February 28, 7-974, from the Planning Commission aeniaf of a request for special use permit to continue his operation at 1246 Rotlins Road. The appeal was scheduled for hearing before the Council at the regular meeting on April L, L974. RECESS: At B:30 p.m., the Chair declared a recess and deferred to CounEtman t'{angini, Assistant Principal, Burlingame High School, who announced that students in the Drama and Music Classes at the school will present the musical "Oklahoma" on March 7,8,9,L4 r15r16. Councilman Mangini then introduced Mr. John Rando, Music Director, who 1ed the student chorus in two numbers from the production, which were enthusiastically received by everyone present. Mayor Martin proclaimed "OKLAHOMA WEEK - MARCH 4, L974." The formal proclamation was presented to Mr. Rando by Councilman Mangini.
