CAIL TO ORDER
An adjourned neetinf from a regular meeting of the BurlingameCity Council, llonday, February 3, 1969, was held on the abovegiven date. Ihe meeting was caLled to order at 6:00 p.In., -uayor ilohnson in the chair.
I{ayor Johnson announced that the adj ourned meeting had been
scheduled for the purpose of finalizing an action with respectto the low bid suhnitted by the Near-Cal Corporation, 1411
North Tenth Street, San Jose, california, for the construction ofthe new City HaI1.
Councilman Diederichsen, observing that the nain office of the
Corporation is located in Los Angeles, questioned whether theprojectrs payroll would emanate from the southern headquarters
or from the San Jose branch.
Mr. Albert w. Kahl, Architect, stated that he would investigate,
hohrever, it was his understanding that all payments for theproject expendi.tures would be released through the tos Angeles
headquarters .
A brief discussion arose on the substitution of the name of theelectrical sub--contractor subnitted on the bidders' list of sub-contractors, as requested by the contractor, trherein councj.l \"ras
advised that an action cannot be taken on a list once presented ithat upon acceptance of a bid, an amendment may be offered bythe Cont,ractor.
councilman George thereafter moved that the Near-cal corporation
be awarded the contract for the construction of the Burlingamecity Hall, in the basic amount of 9816,916.00, with the followingalternate additions:
