RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CSG
CONSULTANTS, INC. FOR PLAN CHECK AND BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY
$50,000 TO COVER EXPECTED EXPENSES RELATED TO BUILDING PERMIT
ARCHIVING AND PERMIT TECHNICIAN SERVICES
WHEREAS, on November 8, 2018, the City Council authorized the City Manager
to execute a contract with CSG Consultants, Inc. for building inspection and permit
technician services required by the Community Development Department — Building
Division; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department — Building Division has
experienced an unanticipated increase in archiving resulting from increased volumes of
building permits, and an increase in demand for permit technician services resulting from
increases in public records requests that will necessitate engaging the services of the
vendor to a greater degree than budgeted for Fiscal Year 2021-2022, and therefore an
amendment to the maximum amount to be expended under the terms of the current
Professional Services Agreement with CSG Consultants, Inc. is necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Professional Services Agreement provided an initial three-year
term to terminate on June 30, 2021, with options for two additional one-year terms; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Building Official exercised the option to extend the
Professional Services Agreement for one year as set forth in the Agreement, to terminate
on June 30, 2022, unless an additional one-year extension is exercised; and
WHEREAS, all costs for plan check and permit fees are passed through to project
proponents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an
amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with CSG Consultants, Inc.
for building inspection and permit technician services, increasing the contracted
amount by $50,000.
2. The option to extend the Professional Services Agreement for one year as set forth
in the Agreement is exercised, to terminate on June 30, 2022.

3. The City Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the City Manager upon
execution of the Professional Services Agreement.
