MINUTES OF JOINT MEETING OF THE BURLINGAME
CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Saturday, December L, L979
The meeting was convened shortJ-y after nine o'clock at the Cypress
Room of the Hyatt House, Burlingame, California. A1l members of
the Planning -ommission were present. All members of the Council,
except Councilman Crosby who was ilI, were present. Staff present
\,/ere the City Manager, -ity Attorney, Director of Public works and
City Planner.
The meeting was opened by Mayor 2\mstrup who raised the question of
future City actions in the area of rentals. Various concepts of
mediation lnd arbitration were considered, including the issue of
the desirability of any parti.cipation or involvement at afl. The
Mayor concluded the discussion with the comment that he would
continue to work with staff to research programs in the area.
The next topic was maintaining the integrity of residential areas.
Council discussed thej-r various approaches to such matters as

be made to formaliZe and- detail findings and reasons in the minutes
so that both bodies would know the basis for the other's actions.
