Mayor Martin declared this item off the consent calendar and continued to the meeting of May 19. STANCES. '' Councilman Amstrup requested that Mrs. Muriel Vint, 1530 Los A1tos Drive, be notified there will be a second hearing on this ordinance on May 19. Counci-lman Mangini moved consent cal-endar be approved with ex- ceptl-on of Item 2A, second by Councilman Amstrup, carried unanimously on ro11 call vote. UNFINISHED BUSINESS TREES Council discussed the drastic pruning of eucalyptus trees on EI Camino by CALTRANS and on Floribunda by the City of Hillsborough. They reguested City Manager to approach both these agencies con- cerning the possibly damaging results on these Heritage trees. NEI^I BUSINESS CIVIL SERVICE 4 Mayor Martin read letter of resignatj-onCivil Service Commission. He asked City Hower, conveying Council's appreciation from Mr. Managerfor his Walter A. Hower, to write Mr. years of service. COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS Mayor Martin made the following appoj-ntments to Council committees: Budget Chairman - Councilman Amstrup CiVil Defense - Councilman Mangini Finance - Councilwoman Barton, Councilman Crosby Audit Councilman Crosby Association Bay Area Governments and Airport Land Use Commission - Mayor Martin r 47 Council for the Aged - Councilman Crosby Criminal Justice Councilman Mangini Convention Bureau - Councilman Amstrup Parking e Chamber of Commerce Councilman Mangini Peninsula League and Regional Planning Commission Councilwoman Barton PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION Council briefly discussed comments in minutes of this commission regarding Bayside Park and Washington Park. Mayor Martin asked that Councils' thanks also be conveyed to Captain Manseau and that commendations be placed in his fi1e. 3. Mayor announced nominations would be at next Council meeting and requested City Manager to contact Mrs. Juanita Garbuj-o about serving again. 6.
