The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M. by Mayor Irving S. Amstrup after an executive session concerning waqe negotiations. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG Led by Jerome F. Coleman, City Attorney. ROLL CALL COLINCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: AMSTRUP , BARTOT'tr, CROSBY , MANGINI , MA,RTIN COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: NO]IE MUNICIPAL ELECTION Mayor Amstrup announced that the City Clerk has received the "Certificate of Countlz Clerk of Record of Votes Cast at Polling Places Within the City of Burlingame at the General MunicipalElection Held April I, 1980. " The record of votes cast at the polling places and by absenteeballot for the various candi-dates for the offices of Member ofthe City Council, Clerk, and Treasurer is set forth in ExhibitrrA, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. For audience benefit, Councilman Crosby read aloud this record. Figures were verified by Councilwoman Barton. RESOLUTION NO. 22-80 ''DECLARING RESULT OE GE}IERAL M.UNICIPALintroduced by Councilwoman Barton who movedits adoption, second by Councilman Crosblz, unanimously carried. INSTALLATION OF COUNCIL MEIVIBERS, CLERK, AND TRRASURER Irving S. Amstrup, Victor A. It{angini, and R. D. Martin werecertified as elected Councilmen. Evelyn H. Hill and Herbert L. Sommer were certified as City Clerk and City Treasurer respectively. Oath of Office was administered by City Attorney Jerome F. Coleman. ELECTION V]CE-ITAYOR Mayor Amstrup declared nominations open for the position ofVice-Mayor. Councilman Crosby placed the nam.e of Councilman l4angini in nomination and movecl the nominations be closed, seconded by Councilman l4artin. A unanirnous ballot vzas cast for CouncilmanVictor A. l4angini as Vice-lt{ayor for the coming year. ELECTION MAYOR Nominations were declared open for the oosition of Chairman of the Council and }llayor of the City of Burlingame. Councilwoman Barton placed the name of Councilman Martin in nomination and moved the nominations be closed, seconded by Councilman Crosby. A unanimous baI1ot was cast for Vice-Mayor l4artin as Chairman of the Council and Mayor of the City of Burlingame for the forthcoming year. PRESENTATION: TO FORMER I4AYOR AND COUIICILI4AN IRVING S. AIISTRUP On behalf of Council and staff, Mayor Martin presented Councilman Amstrup with an inscribed plaque as token of aporeciation of his efforts durj-nc, his term as lt{ayor. In accepting the plaque, Councilman Amstruo thanked the City, Councit and staff for cooperation received from them, and expressed appreciatj-on to his electors, his friends, and family. r-!- 39 Councilmen thanked their election committees and introducedindividual committee members present.
