A regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council was held onthe above date in the City Ha1I Council Chambers. Meeting was
ca11ed to order at 8:00 P.M. by Mayor Pro-Tem Gloria Barton.

ENTERTAINMENT PERMIT RENEWAL - RODEO WEST 26L CALTFORNIA DRIVE
After brief discussion City Council decided to defer action on
this permit to the next regular meeting. They were concerned
about the types of disturbances which show on the police report
and wished to question owner of establishment.

Ordinance Establishing No Parking on Both Sides of Burlingame
Avenue from EI Camino ReaI to Occidental Avenue.
City Attorney explained this ordinance has been presented in error.

"Building and SafeLy Week. "
OLD BUSINESS
1. RECOMMENDATION OF TRAFFIC, SAFETY & PARKING COMMISSION FOR TEN
HOUR PARKING ON DOUGLAS AVENUE
Director of Public Works reviewed previous Traffic, Safety andParking recommendation for 10 hour parking on the south side of
Douglas Avenue. This has met with residents' disapproval and wassent back to Traffic, Safety and Parking for restudy. Traffic,Safety and Parking recommendation of April 10, 1981 attachedparking survey figures for Douglas, map of the area showing typesof residential structures, and several days' count of parked vehicles
by the Police Department.
In view of the facts from their investigation, Traffic,
Parking Commission recommended that the western half ofside of Douglas be metered for 10 hour parking.

Council had no adverse comments, and Director of Public tr{orks
reported that ordinance would be prepared for the next meeting.
Councilman Amstrup reported the danger of the two signals close
together on the East side of EI Camino Real, one at Oxford,/Cambridge
and the other opposite Adeline, with a stop expected only at the
second. Director of Public Works stated State Highway Department had
been asked several times to cover the first light. He added they
will be contacted again, and his department will do it if they don't.

parking areas at railway stations at Broadway and Burlingame
Avenue. Staff conferred on the respons ib il ities of Southern
Pacifj-c, Caltrans, and Samtrans in maintaining these lots.
City Manager stated he would notify them all.
