A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE BROADWAY PEDESTRIAN STREET
LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
CITY PROJECT NO. 85000
FEDERAL AID PROJECT NO. CML-5171(023)
WHEREAS, on February 17, 2021 the City issued a notice inviting sealed bids for the
Broadway Pedestrian Street Lighting Improvements Project, City Project No. 85000, Federal Aid
Project No. CML-5171(023); and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2021, all bid proposals were opened before the City Clerk and
representatives of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, the City received eight bid proposals in amounts ranging from $690,783.22
to $892,565.00; and
WHEREAS, NBC Construction and Engineering, Inc. was the apparent low bidder with its
bid amount of $690,783.22; and
WHEREAS, during the review of the bid package from the apparent low bidder, staff had
concerns with some of the unit pricing; and
WHEREAS, given the concerns with the bid pricing, it is recommended that all bids be
rejected and modifications be made to the project plans and specifications prior to re -advertising
the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and ORDERED, that all bids for the above -
named project are hereby rejected; all bonds and security received in connection with the bids
received shall be returned to the bidders; and City staff is authorized to update the project
specifications to address any technical discrepancies, and re -advertise the project in accordance
therewith.

2021, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
