RESOLUTION NO. 034-2021
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AUTHORIZING
THE DELETION OF ONE VACANT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I, THE ADDITION OF
ONE MANAGEMENT ANALYST, AND THE RECLASSIFICATION OF THREE INCUMBENT
MANAGEMENT ANALYST POSITIONS
WHEREAS, under the City of Burlingame Civil Service Rules, adopted pursuant to
Municipal Code Section 3.52.030, the City Council is the final authority for approving the
classification and compensation plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed changes are as detailed below:
Delete a vacant 1.0 FTE Administrative Assistant I;
Add a 1.0 Management Analyst, and adopt a Management Analyst classification and
salary range; and
Reclassify one Management Analyst in the Finance Department, one Management
Analyst in the Parks and Recreation Department, and one Management Analyst in the
Public Works Department, Corporation Yard Division, and adopt a Senior
Management Analyst classification and salary range; and
WHEREAS, the basis for the proposed changes is fully detailed in the staff report for this
item on the April 5, 2021 City Council agenda; and
WHEREAS, this change results in an annual increase of $26,302, with 74% of the increase
split evenly between the Sewer Enterprise Fund and the Water Enterprise Fund, and the
remaining 26% allocated to the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, the bargaining units representing the impacted classifications have reviewed
the proposed changes and have not brought forth any objections or concerns.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame finds,
orders, and declares that:
1. The Council approves the deletion of a vacant 1.0 Administrative Assistant I in the
Public Works Department; and
2. The Council approves the addition of a 1.0 FTE Management Analyst in the Public
Works Department and adopts the classification and salary range for the Management
Analyst position; and
3. The Council approves the reclassification of one Management Analyst in the Finance
Department, one Management Analyst in the Parks and Recreation Department, and
one Management Analyst in the Public Works Department, Corporation Yard Division,
and adopts a Senior Management Analyst classification and salary range.
