SOCCER LIGHTS AT BAYSIDE PAR(
Director of PubLic Works revi.ewed hls merno of October 16 in vhich he
recommended council transfer $5,000 from the Contingency Fund for
upgrading lights at Bayside Park for soccer use. After several years
of reviewing alternatives to upgrading these lights the City
Electrician and the Westinghouse representative have proposed a
solution which wj.11 double Ehe amount of light at least cost. The
solution will be to change existing 1,000 watt lights and Eransformers
to 1,500 watts and to add one additional 1,500 watt fixture to each
pole. This will effectively double the lights on the field.
Councilman Lembi noved to transfer $5,000 fron the Contingency Fund
for the installation of lights. Councilman Amstrup noted that the
cost of electricity to the city would be doubled so the public pay
charge for lights should be doubled. Councj.lman Lembl incorporated
this increase in cost to the public into his motion. Seconded by
Councilwoman Barton, carried unanimously by ro11 call vote.
