Director of Public works reviewed his memo of July 16 in nhich he
reconmended council hold public hearing and take action. 0n July 7
council adopted Resolution 78-86 setting a public hearing for
establishing an underground district on Donnelly Avenue. NoEices were
sent to all affected property ovners. PT&T requested that the proposed
dates for property owners to receiYe underground service and for
renoval of poles be December 31 , 1986 and January 31' 1987
respectively. The owner of 1348-1350 had subnitted a letter objecting
to ihe removal of poles. The poles would be in the vay if a parking
structure r.rere built over Parking Lot C.
Mayor Mangini opened the public hearing. There being no conments, the
hearing was closed.
Councilnan Anstrup moved adoption of RESOLUTION 82-86. Seconded by
Councilnan Lembi, carried unanimously by ro11 call vote.

FIXING ASSESSMENTS FOR 1986 IJEED
AND RUBBISH ABATEMENT - JOB
Director of Public Works reviewed his memo of July 20 in which he
recornmended council hold public hearing and take action. The City
Engi-neer has posted the subject properties, has contracted for weed
and rubbish removal and has given the City Clerk the assessment
report. The City Clerk has published the required notice. 0nce
adopted, the assessnents wj-11 be transmitted to the County Assessor
for recording on the tax roll-s. He noted this includes both 1984-85
and the 1985-86 assessments for the Southern Pac j.f ic property.

OLD BUSINESS RUBBISH ABATEMENT
Councilman Lembj. revieued that he had called Lo staff attention during
discussion of weed and rubbish abatenent a business on Clarendon which
parks trucks all over its residential property. He wondered if city
could control this. Staff reviened bus j-ness has permit to Park tvo
trucks on j"ts property. Lenbi. said they have several parked there as
well as workers trucks, these are dump trucks and hauling trucks. He
also noted there l{as a seni truck parked on street at Washington
School and wondered if city had lan against this. Staff replied yes
and will look into both natters.
OLD BUS]NESS - SELIER AGREEMENT WITH HILLSBOROUGH
Council,man Pagliaro wondered about status of the sever bi11. City
Manager replied Hillsborough council had approved it at its last
meeting with some minor chaoges. They are prepared to pay the 1985-86
billing. After that is paid, staff vill pursue the 1984-85 balance

Councilr+oman Barton wondered if city could put pressure on businesses
along bayfront which do not have path along bayfront. Dlrector of
Public Works replied that Avis ls currently getting a building pernit
