mit,
Councilnan Pagliaro had heard compl,aints from realtors who h ave to
leave for an hour and return to find their spot taken. Mayor Barton
said they should be using short term lots, not long term parking; shealso noted that there would be problems if they bought a pernit for
$30 per month and then returned to lot to find no parking spaceavailable, paying for a permit is not reserving a spot. Councj-1man
Lembi noted rrith a ticket dispenser they could reLurn to afly spot in
the Lot.
Chief of Police mentioned the administrative difficulty of selJ.ing
monthly permi-ts; would be less complicated to sell three monthpermits, but many people wouLd not want to pay that nuch at one time;
city had this experience with the telephone company employees; it
would cost $100,000 to meter these lots with long term meters.
to research further and bring back a report on
Mayor Barton asked counci.l to take a stand supporting expansion of the
0x Mountain 1andfi11. Council agreed.
Councilman Lembi wondered what the Army Corps of Engineers has to
with this 1andfil1. Staff responded Ehat there has been a change
definj.tion of jurisdiction linits, and now the Army must rule on
of these 1ands. Councilman Pagli-aro noted he would like added to
