Crosby Mayor, Ci ty of Burl ingame 501 Primrose Road Burlingame, CA 94010 Honorable Mayor and City Council: TEL:(415) 342-8931 At its regular meeting of [lay 5, 1983, the Beautification Commission considered the renaming of a trail in the Mills Canyon Wildlife Area in memory of Edwin P. Taylor. Mr. Taylor was instrumental in establishing the trail sys- tem through this area, and spent a great deal of time main- taining and promoting it. It is the opinion of the Commis- sion that his years of dedicated service to his community deserves recognition in some small manner. We therefore voted unanimously to recommend to the Council that the "Creekside" trail be renamed in Ed's memory. We would ap- preciate your consideration of this request. Sincerely, Chester E. Bowling Chairman, Burlingame CEB/RQ/kh CC: D. Argyres Beautification Commission OR= DATE: MAY 265 1983 TO: D. ARGYRES - CITY MANAGER FROM: R. QUADRI - DIRECTOR OF PARKS RE: MEMORIAL TRAIL At its regular meeting of May 5, 1983, the Beautification Commission voted unanimously to recommend that a trail in the Hills Canyon Wildlife Area be named in memory of Edwin Taylor. As you are aware, Ed was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the trail system through this area. I believe that renaming the "Creekside" trail would be the most appropriate. Please advise what steps the Com- mission should take to accomplish this. Richard P. Quadri Director of Park RPQ/kh V P n
