HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - BC - 1983.03.0311.0 Ite BURLINGAME BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION March 3, 1983 The regularly scheduled Burlingame Beautification Commission meet- ing was called to order Thursday, March 3, 1983, 7:30 PM in the City Hall by Chairman Bowling. ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Bowling, Commissioners Bacon, Carbon, Disco, Hagstrom, Levy, Perry, and Director Quadri. MINUTES Corrections were noted under Commission Hagstrom's report to read "the Clean Campus Award to Burlingame Intermediate School for the 1980-1981 and 1981-1982 school year". The minutes for the Feb- ruary 3, 1983, were approved as corrected. CORRESPONDENCE Donation of $100 from the Garden Study Club o/t Peninsula to pur- chase trees for the Arbor Day Celebration. 2/3/83 Letter from Director Quadri thanking the Garden Study Club for the $100 donation to purchase trees to be planted in Washington Park for the Arbor Day Celebration on March 7, 1983. 2/14/83 Letter from Director Quadri to Mr. S. Ray Flowers, Jr. indicating the Commission's permission for a tree to be donated to commem- orate Councilman Amstrup's 65th birthday for the Arbor Day Cele- bration. 2/14/83 Acknowledgement from the Millbrae Beautification Commission of receipt of $19.97 representing 1/2 the cost for the Clean Campus Award plaque. 2/18/83 Letter to Koichi Hirano from Director Quadri thanking him for the project of location signs for the Mills Canyon Wildlife Area. 3/3/83 REPORTS Commissioner Carbon Commended the Beautification Commission Dinner. C. Carbon asked if the Sycamores on Hillside would be trimmed. D. Quadri indicated that the Sycamores from Hillside over to Adeline and from ECR to Alvarado would be trimmed this year. This will begin the Park Departments new program to enable the trimming of all city -owned Sycamores every 3 to 4 years. Commissioner Perry The February meeting of the Clean Campus Contest was cancelled. C. Levy will contact Anne Kirkbride of the Millbrae Beautification Commission to set up a new meeting date for the February Clean Campus contest. '1 '1 .1
