Because of the presence of the City Manager and Director of Recreation,
NEW BUSINESS was considered first.

bining the Beautification Commission with the Park and Recreation Com-
mission and solicited their comments. The Commission discussed the
matter and asked questions of the City Manager, Director Quadri, and

meeting with Park and Rec. in February.

OLD BUSINESS
The Commission discussed the continuation of the Clean Campus Award.
Commissioners Bowling and Carbon feel it is not an appropriate item
for the Beautification Commission to be involved with, i.e., the
ordinance governing the BBC is more oriented toward the preservation
of street trees and the beautification of public lands. Commissioners
Disco, Hagstrom, and Bacon feel the program is a worthwhile project,
i.e., it shows the students that the community is interested in them
and gives the students pride in their environment. The Commission
decided to continue the program through the year. Commissioner Hag-
strom volunteered to attend the monthly inspections.
The Arbor Day celebration on Friday, March 9 will take place at Bur-
lingame Village Park. Chairman Carbon asked that the Directors of
the CCC's also be invited this year.
