Vladimar soruner, Broadway merchant and owner of Beverly's Flo$rer
cart, inquired about the request from Broadway merchants for a
street fair as he had not been present at the early part of meeting'
Mayor Lembi expfained that council would review this request at the
May study meeting. Sonuner said based on their experience last year,
six Broadway merchants objected to having this fair; his business
had lost $500 during the fair last year. He said they wrote a
letter to council last year and never received a response. Soluner
said he had attended a merchants meeting last year and when he
objected to the fair he was not invited to attend any more meetings.
Councilwoman Barton was concerned that some merchants are having
problems with this street fair and asked that a letter be sent to
the Broadway Merchants informing them of council-'s concern that some
merchants are losing money because of the street fair and are not
being heard.
