TO: Burlingame Beautification Committee:
? re^rQetfu ly request a variance from the ordi::,Lnce mandwting-*l.uta replacement tree
be a 24" box as stated in the permit issued by the Park Dept. The area that the replacement
tree is to be planted is on the corner of the property, as shown on the attached diagram. It
serves two purposes: 1)when grown, it will shield the back patio from the downhill traffic
on Los Montes Dr. for a measure of privacy and 2) the removal of the old pine tree gave
the neighbors across the street a view back they hadn't had in over fifteen years, so I
wanted to plant the tree in an area that would not block their sight line.
The proposed planting area however had an old rotted apple tree, as well as old Ivy and the
roots are numerous and large, (though I did have the tree stumped). I did dig a hole
that may accept a 15 gal tree but a 24" box would be very difficult and time consuming.
I respectfully invite anyone from the Beautification Committee to review this request in
`-- person for a more thorough explanation or to answer any questions.
Respectfully,
Frank Sulgit

a decision at their June 2 meeting.
The Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room "A" at City
Hall should you wish to attend.
