RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
ELECTING STATE DISABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES
WITHIN THE BURLINGAME PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION --
AFSCME LOCAL 829
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the employees within the Burlingame Public Service Employees Association,
AFSCME Local 829, have requested the City to place thein within coverage by the State of
California disability insurance program; and
WHEREAS, this insurance program will give these employees enhanced assurance of
wage continuation should they become disabled; and
WHEREAS, implementation of this program for these employees requires submission of
an application to the State of California and the execution of other necessary documents,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. Implementation of State of California disability insurance for employees within the
Burlingame Public Service Employees Association, AFSCME Local 829, is approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and requested to execute the application and documents
necessary to implement this program for these employees pursuant to Unemployment Insurance
Code section 710.5.

foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day of
August . 2000, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
