In the denial notice, it is stated that valid reasons to remove a tree are based on health, stability and property damage issues. I am enclosing additional photographs showing that the palm tree which we want to remove (and will replace with birch trees) is 1) damaging our walkway in the front of the property. This is causing a hazard by raising portions of the concrete enough to trip over. It is also cracking the surface and will continue to deteriorate. Furthermore, (2) the trunk grows spikes which are a continuing concern when my Wife and young children walk by. There is a strong potential for walking against the tree and brushing°against the spikes, causing serious harm. I have already scratched myself numerous times peful"that you will reconsider our request to remove this tree. We are very glad that im"kes great pride in its culture of arbor protection, as it adds greatly to the quality of life e fully intend to replace this dangerous species with trees which are safer for our family and Gong Y _.+ =fir. t. •e, _..r - \y -+r _ ... 10. fi. :.• J77'. ,ram ` / `. t. - APO 'v-+ L fir.. • ; w!'
