RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING 2000-2003 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AND SAN MATEO COUNTY FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, on July 7, 1997, by Resolution No. 54-97, the City Council approved a
three-year agreement between the City and San Mateo County to have the County provide animal
control services through the Peninsula Humane Society, and the agreement was subsequently
amended once pursuant to Council resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County and the Humane Society have offered to continue to provide
animal control services for a period of three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Agreement will ensure compliance with the new requirements
for State law for retention of animals and the spay and neutering of impounded animals prior to
return to owners; and
WHEREAS, the costs of services proposed Agreement have been examined by a cost
accounting firm to determine the appropriateness of charges and found to be proper; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the proposed Agreement is in the best interests of the
community,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The Mayor is authorized and requested to execute the Agreement between the City and
the County for Animal Control Services as contained in Exhibit A hereto.
2. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Mayor.

foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of
June 2000, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
