RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING THE REGULATION OF PARKING FOR STREET SWEEPING IN THE
AREA BETWEEN BROADWAY AND GROVE AVENUE AND EL CANIINO REAL
AND CALIFORNIA DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC
WORKS TO POST SIGNS TO ENFORCE THE PARKING RESTRICTIONS
WHEREAS, the City wishes to increase the effectiveness of its street sweeping program in
order to enhance the appearance of its neighborhoods, keep drains clear, and improve compliance
with the non point discharge program; and
WHEREAS, City staff has identified a discrete area where parking restrictions can be
implemented that will greatly assist the efforts to keep the streets swept; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 22507.6 and 22651 of the Vehicle Code, the City has
adopted Section 13.32.050(f) of the Burlingame Municipal Code to provide for parking restrictions
when necessary to conduct street sweeping and cleaning; and
WHEREAS, the streets and time restrictions provided in Exhibit A hereto are appropriate
and reasonable, and necessary to ensure that cleaning ofthe streets involved is properly accomplished,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The parking restrictions provided in Exhibit A are approved and adopted for enforcement.
2. The Director of Public Works as the city engineer is directed and authorized to erect signs
pursuant to the Burlingame Municipal Code and the Vehicle Code, in particular Section 22507.6, to
make these restrictions enforceable by the Burlingame Police Department.
