HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 034-2000RESOLUTION NO. 34-2000 RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION AND SIGN EXCEPTION RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, a Categorical Exemption has been proposed and application has been made fora sign exception for a sign on a `secondary' frontage overlookingan n adjacent property_ at 1730 Rollins Road. zoned M-1 Arthur Michael Trust, property owner, APM 025-262-290; WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on said application on March 13. 2000 , at which time said application was denied; WHEREAS, this matter was qj�vealed to City Council and a hearing thereon held on April 3. 2000 , at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and testimony presented at said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Council that: 1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, per CEQA Section 15301, construction of small structures, is hereby approved. 2. Said sign exception is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Findings for such sign exception are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting. 3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records of the County of San Mateo. MAYOR I, ANN MUSSO, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd day of Ate, 2000, and adopted thereafter by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: COFFEY, GALLIGAN, JANNEY NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: SPI NELL I , O'MAHONY ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE �/llill� V• I/LU44Z CITY CLERK EXHIBIT "A" Conditions of approval Categorical Exemption and Sign Exception 1730 Rollins Road effective April 3, 2000 Conditions: that the wall sign (Sign C) shall be installed as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped January 19, 2000 (site plan, building elevations and sign elevations); 2. that the maximum height of Sign C shall be 22'-6", with a maximum depth of 3/4" from face of the sign can to wall of the building any illumination shall be confined within the can and face of the sign; that the applicant shall have a survey conducted by a licensed land surveyor or civil engineer to determine the location of the property line between the two adjoining parcels at 1730 Rollins Road and 1718 Rollins Road,.and that the proposed sign shall not extend over this shared property line, nor shall the sign be installed from the adjacent property without written permission; 4. that the placement of the proposed sign in the approved location shall not vest any rights to the property owner of 1730 Rollins Road which would prevent future development on the adjacent property at 1718 Rollins Road; 5. That the copy of Sign C shall read "Prime Time Athletic Club" and shall be internally illuminated during the hours of 5:00 pm - 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. -8:00 a.m. only; and, 6. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the municipal code and of the California Building and Fire Codes, 1998 Edition, as amended by the City of Burlingame.
