RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT
NO. 1 TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ESA
FOR ADDITIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW SERVICES RELATED TO
SEA CHANGE BURLINGAME
WHEREAS, the City was awarded a grant of $60,000 from the County of San Mateo to
evaluate sea level rise adaptation strategies; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into a contract with ESA environmental consultants to
prepare a sea level rise adaptation analysis for $95,000 dated February 6, 2019, with the City
responsible for the balance of $35,000; because the original contract amount was under $100,000 it did
not require City Council approval; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional work is required to complete the
analysis and the Consultant has requested $12,000 to perform additional services beyond the scope of
the Agreement, and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has prepared a request for additional fees to cover the cost of
the requested services as outlined in the attached Contract Amendment No. 1, dated September 17,
2019, for an increase of $12,000 for a total budget of $107,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
The City Manager is authorized and directed to enter into Amendment No. 1 to Professional
Services Agreement with ESA for professional services related to the evaluation of sea level rise
adaptation strategies with the Scope of Work attached to this resolution, for an additional cost of
$12,000.00, for a maximum total cost of $107,000.00, as stated in the Contract Amendment No.
1, dated September 17, 2019.
The City Clerk is instructed to attest to the signature of the City Manager upon execution of the
Professional Services Agreement.
