Approval of Minutes Approve the minutes of the August 17, 2006 regular meeting 3. Public Comments This is the opportunity for members of the public to address the Commission regarding items not otherwise on the agenda. The Ralph M. Murray field reopened on Aug. 7 after a six week rest to reseed the lawn. 2. Washington Park Main infield was closed for three weeks to reseed the grass. 3. Over 100 trees will be planted this fall. 4. Path paving at Bayside and Washington parks will occur the week of September 25. 5. City Tree Crew has continued pruning the eucalyptus trees at Bayside Park. 6. Tree contractor has begun work on stump grinding and eucalyptus pruning on Skyline Blvd. Recreation Division Preschool 1. All three summer sessions of camp tree house were fill with 15 3's and 15 4 y.o's enrolled per session. 2. Wonderful Ones begins 9/20 with 10 children enrolled. 3. Preschool began on Sept 11 with all classes full 4. Preschool Back to School Picnic 9/29. Youth Programs 5. Conducted first ever parents' sports night at BIS, with about 75 people attending 6. Shakespeare Camp had 27 children enrolled for the 2-week camp which ended in an outdoor performance. 7. Drama program's "Into the Woods Jr." was performed, with 23 children enrolled. 8. Summer Tennis Camp had over 200 additional participants than last summer — 362 in 2005 and 581 in 2006. Serve and Splash (40 enrolled each week) may have contributed to the increase. 9. Driver's Education for Teens was held in August and had 30 enrolled. It was held in the Lane Room at the main Library due to lack of building space at the Recreation Center. Adult Programs 10. The City sponsored emergency prep class had 20 adults enrolled. 11. 6 teams are registered in the Women's 35 and Older Soccer League Fall season 12. 39 men's and 8 women's adult softball teams are participating in the Summer -Fall season Senior Citizens Programs 13. 20 Senior Citizens went to the Monet in Normandy exhibit and to the Legion of Honor. 14. 20 Seniors went to Carmel. 15. 8 seniors enrolled in the Driver's Safety class. 16. My Computer Class started at the high school with 15 seniors for the nine -week session Special Events 17. Approximately 175 people saw E.T. phone home at the August Movie at the Park —Upcoming Events 1. Seniors to Jackson Casino on 10/4. 2.
