A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING
THE PROCUREMENT OF WATER METERS AND AUTOMATIC METER READ (AMR)
DEVICES
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department's Water Division operates and maintains
approximately 10,000 water connections ranging from 3/4" to 10"; and
WHEREAS, in 2006, the Public Works Department went through a competitive selection
process for water meters and associated AMR devices; and
WHEREAS, the City selected Golden State Flow Measurement, Inc. (GSFM), an
authorized local distributor for the Sensus Metering Systems; and
WHEREAS, over the last 13 years, the City has gone through a replacement program to
upgrade small size water meters (sizes ranging from 3/4" to 1 '/z"); and
WHEREAS, the City is now embarking on the procurement for upgrading the large water
meters, sizes 2" and larger, over the next three years; and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a new set of pricing with GSFM for the purchase of the
larger water meters and associated AMR devices, which will not exceed $300,000 during any
given year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council approves the procurement of water meters and AMR devices from GSFM
in an amount not to exceed $300,000 annually.
