an application with the Federal Communications Commission for a
per -nit to construct and operate a radio broadcasting; station of
1160 kilOc7cles, under 250 watts of power, da7t1me operation, and
1-7HEREAS there is not now any local station serving this area,
and none of the stations in nearby localities are concerned
particular17 with the problems and Interests of the communities
on the San Francisco Peninsulas and
WHEREAS the communities comprised in the area whit' - said applicant
proposes to serve are separate and distinct entities from the
metropolitan area of San Francisco, the problems, population
make-up and business and cultural interests of which are different
from those of the Peninsula communities, and
WHEREAS the communities in this area are bound one to another by
common problems of transportation, water sunply, sanitation,
commerce, education and law enforcement, and

a whole, many of Which problems are Intimately related to the

body is of the opinion that Granting of said application would
