WHSREAS, Under Chapter 250 of the Laws of 1939, of the State
of California, effective September 19, 1939, Municipal Corporations,
among other corporate entitie7, were authorized and empowered to adopt
and carry into effect a system of Group Life Insurance for the
benefit turd for such of the officers and employees as shall or may
elect to accept the same and shall authorize the governing body of
said Municipal Corporation to make deductions from their compensation
for the payment of premiums on such insurance; and,
WHEREAS, A sufficient number of officers and employees of the
City of Burlingame have heretofore elected to accept such group
insurance and h1We consented to the deduction from their compensation
for the payment of premiums on such insurance and pursuant to the
authority of law;
BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council, of the City of Burlingame,
under and by virtue of the Statute hereinabove mentioned, for and
on behalf of the officers and employees of said City of Burlingame,
do accept the offer of Aetna Life Insurance Company, duly authorized
to do business in the State of California, to provide Group Life
Insurance for said officers and employees in the amounts and pre-
miums as set forth in the written offer of said Aetna Life Insurance
Company, on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent of said
City of Burlingame;
BE IT FURT=,R RESOLVED, that the City Treasurer of the City
of Burlingame be and he is hereby authorized to make the necessary
deductions and adjustments in the several salaries of offercers and
employees of said City of Burlingame who have agreed to accept such
group insurance and have consented to the deductions of the pre+r�
payments from their compensation; and,
BE IT FURTRER RESOLVED, that the Burlingame -San 14ateo Insurance
Agent's Association be and it is hereby nominated as the agent of
record.
