REQUESTING CONSENT OF BOARD OF
SUP13RVISORS TO MAKE 11APROM,:E ITS
IN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY FOR
BIIRLINGAME VILLAGE
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Burlingame,
California, that.
d'iiEREAS, this Council is about to undertake proceedings
under the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913 for the purpose of
constructing pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains,
sanitary sewers, domestic water facilities, an electrolier system
and trees, shrubs and ornamental vegetation in and for Burlingame
Village, a subdivision within said city;
WHEREAS, the proposed improvement is of such character

that it directly and peculiarly affects property within the
unincorporated territory of the County of San IVateo as .veil as
property within said city;
NOW, `HLri REFCRE, the consent of the Board of Supervisors ofi
the County of San 1+1ateo is hereby requested for authority of
this City Council to make the following improvements in the
followin locations in the unincorporated territory of said
county:
1. The construction of a pavement for a path ten feet
in width, over the area lying between the El Camino Real and
that portion of Burlingame Village as shown on the map entitled
"Burlingame Village Burlingame, California", filed in the office

of the Recorder of San Mateo County on December 18, 1940, in
Liber 22 of Klaps, at pages 31 and 32, which lies between Lots 11
and 12 in Block 4, said pavement to consist of a red rock water -
..sand macadam bace ..`:roe Inches thic?--, together ..ith an aspiial icl
armour coat surface one-half inch in thickness.
2. The construction of a pavement between said E1 Camino
Real and said Burlingame Village, for• the extension of Rosedale
Avenue to said E1 Camino Real, together with the extension thereof
with returns over the right-of-way area of said E1 Camino Real
to its junction with the northeasterly line of the pavement
thereof, said pavement to consist of a five inch red rock water -
bound macadam base, and a one-half inch asphaltic armour coat,
as more particularly described in Encroachment Permit No. C-40556,
dated February 10, 1941, issued by the Division of Highways to
and. in favor of Burlingame Village Subdivision, James & Waters,
Engineers, and filed in the office of the City Clerk of said
City of Burlingame.
3. The construction of a twelve inch sanitary sewer from
the northwesterly boundary of said Burlingame Village to the
southwesterly boundary of the E1 Camino Real, to consist of cast
iron pipe under the paved area of said E1 Camino Real, and.
vitrified clay pipe elsewhere, and the construction of a brick
manhole with cast iron frame and cover, and steps, in the south-
westerly boundary of said E1 Camino Real as more particularly
described in the Encroachment Permit last above referred. to.
4. The construction of a pavement identical in form to
that contained in Subdivision 2 hereof, over the area lying
between the El Camino Real and Burlingame Village opposite
Dufferin Avenue, together with the southwesterly extension
thereof, together with returns, in the E1 Camino Real to its
junction with the Northeasterly side of the paved area thereof,
all as more particularly described in the Encroachment Permit
above referred to.
The improvements provided in Subdivisions 1, 2, 3 and 4
hereof are to be constructed within the area of the E1 Camino
Real, and within areas heretofore dedicated by the owners thereof
to the State Highway Department for highway purposes.

5. The construction of a fourteen inch cast iron sanitary
sewer pipe across the Market Street Railway Company right of way
opposite Rosedale Avenue in said Burlingame Village Subdivision,
as more narticuhrly described in an agreement between the City
of Burlingame and said. Railway Company dated. February 10, 1941,
and filed with the City Clerk of said City.
6. The construction of a fourteen inch cast iron sanitary
sewer pipe across the Southern Pacific Company right of way
opposite Rosedale Avenue in said. Burlingame Village Subdivision,
as more particularly described in that certain contract between
said city and said company, dated February 10, 1941, and filed
with the City Clerk of said City.
7. The construction of a fourteen inch cast iron sanitary
sewer pipe for part of the way, and a fifteen inch vitrified clay
pipe sanitary sewer for the balance of the way, with manholes
complete, within an easement to be obtained from the Mills Estate
Incorporated, said easement being ten feet wide, and located
five feet on either side of the following described center line:
BEGINNING at a point in the line dividing the
lands of George F. Lyon Estate and the lands of Mills
Estate Incorporated, said point being located on and
along said dividing line North 36' 37' East 216.44 feet
from the intersection of said dividing line with the
northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Company
right of way, the bearing of said northeasterly line
of the Southern Pacific Company right of way being
assumed for the purpose of this description as being
North 62' 20' West; running thence from said point
of beginning North 62' 20' West 10.40 feet; thence
South 35° 16, 10" West 170.30 feat; thence North
62" 201 West 1574,43 feet; thence South 330 45' 40"
West 32.35 feet to a point in the northeasterly line of
the Southern Pacific Company right of way, said last
de,scribed point being located North 59' 59' West 313.22
feet from a 5" concrete monument marked "M.E.22.10"
located at an angle point in said northeasterly line
of the Southern Pacific Company right of way,
8. The construction of a six inch cast iron pipe water main
within an easement to be obtained from Thomas J. Culligan, Jr.
and Kathleen F. Culligan, his wife, said easement being ten feet
wide, and located five feet on either side of the following
described center line:

BEGINNING at a point in the southwesterly line
of Lot 10 Block 4 as said lot and block are shown upon
that certain map entitled "Burlingame Village Burlingame,
California", which map was filed in the office of the
County Recorder of San Mateo County on December 18, 1940
and recorded in Volume 23 of daps at pages 31 and 32, said
point of beginning being located on and along said south-
westerly line of Lot 10 North 560 14l 20" West 16.75 feet
from the most southerly corner of said Lot 10; running
thence from said point of beginning South 110 14' 20"
East 19.30 feet to a point in the northwesterly boundary
line of the tract of land shown on that certain map
entitled "Map of Burlingam Gate Burlingame San Mateo
County (klifornia", which map was filed in the office
of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on May 14, 1924
and recorded in Book 11 of Maps at pages 64 and 65, said
last described point being located -South 45' 34, 3o" West
7.023 feet from the most westerly corner of Lot 9 as shown
on said map of Burlingame Gate.
9. That no property outside of the boundaries of the
City of Burlingame be assessed for the payment of any part of
the costs or expenses of said work.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the proposed form of Resolution
of Intention, in standard form, be submitted to said Board of
Supervisors for its approval.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Clerk be and she is
hereby directed to certify and deliver a copy of this resolution
to the County Clerk of the County of San Mateo.
I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of a
resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day
of February, 1941, by the following vote of the members thereof:
