RESOLUTION OF TIM' CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPOINTING A LOCAL PROPERTY OFFICER PURSUANT TO REGULA- TIONS NUMBER ONE OF THE OFFICE OF CIVILIAN DEFENSE. The City Council of the City of Burlingame does hereby resolve as follows: Section One: LOCAL PROPERTY OFFICER. On March 16, 1942, the Director of Civilian Defense issued Regulations Number One, which provides as a condition pre- cedent to the making of any loan to a city of equipment and supplies for the protection of persons and property from bombing attacks, sabotage and other war hazards, that the City Council shall appoint a Local Property Officer to serve as the authorized agent of the City to receive such loan upon such terns and condi_ tions as shall be prescribed by the Director of Civilian Defense. Section Two: POWERS AND DUTIES. The powers and duties of such officer are those speci- fied in the Regulations, referred to in Section One, which create such office and which provide that the person appointed to said office by the City Council shall be subject thereto and to any other rules, regulations, orders or instructions of the Director of Civilian Defense. Section Three: BOND. Such officer is required by the Regulations to furnish a bond in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars (;5,000.00), and the premium thereof is hereby declared to be a proper charge against the City. Such bond to be executed in the form and manner re- quired by the Office of Civilian Defense. Section Four: APPOINMAEi4T TO OFFICE. City urchasin Agent F. A. Blooiq%is hereby appointed to the position of Local Property Officer to hold office at the pleasure of the City 1. Council and to serve without compensation from the City for his services in such capacity. Such Local Property officer is hereby authorized to receive and accept on behalf of said City all equipment, supplies, materials and money offered, granted, loaned; leased or otherwise made available to said City, or any officer or department thereof, by the Federal Government to carry out any defense program, act or activity. Section Five; The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
