RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION HELD TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE CONTRACT PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN STATE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYS TEYa . 11EREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame, at a regular meeting thereof held on May 18, 1942, passed a Resolu.. tion of Intention to approve a contract providing for participa_ tion in the State Employees Retirement System, for the employees of the City of Burlingame, and at the same tirr_e, pursuant to the provisions of the Retirement Act, made provision for an election to be held on Friday, May 22, 1942, and appointed the Chief of Police, the Fire Chief and the City Clerk of said City as Election Officers to conduct such election at the office of the City Clerk in tine City Hall of the City of Burlingame between the hours of 9 A.M. and 5 P.M, on said day, and at said election the employees of the City of Burlingame were given a ballot and an opportunity to approve or disapprove the participation in the State Employees Retirement System, pursuant to the State Employees Retirement Act; and, 'l�REAS. the City Council, at a regular meeting thereof held on may 25, 1042, canvassed the vote of the City employees and ascertained that the result of such election b- the employees of the City resulted as hereinafter set forth; NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,, at its meeting held on May 25, 1942, that the City employees at theelection above mentioned, expressed their approval or disapproval of the said employees participating in the State Employees Retirement System as follows: a. City firemen as defined in Section 8(b) of the State Employees' Retire_ ment Act. :Number of votes _1-pproving said participa vion 12 Number of votes disapproving said y artu_cipa_ ti on 1 ',. b.
