RESOLUTION NO.
'NHERnAS, the City of Burlingame, a Municipal Corpora_
tion, has entered into an Agreement with the Board of Trustees
of the Burlingame Elementary School District, which provides in
part for the use of grounds and equipment of the school district
for the purpose of carrying on the recreation program created by
the Recreation Commission of the City of Burlingame, and also
provides that the Burlingame School District is to contribute
one-half (1/2) of the per annum compensation to be paid to the
Director of Recreation in charge, all as provided in said ;ree_
ment; and,
INHER:t1.`* the City Council of the City of Burlin ame
deems it to be for the best interests and to the advanta;;e of
the City that the terms of the said contract be made effective;
NOWt T EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by tt:e City Council of
the City of Burlingame, at a regular meeting thereof duly lield on
July 20, 1942, that the said contract be confirmed and that the
Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and
directed, for and in behalf of said City of +urlin ame to execute
the said Agreement and attest the same by affixing the official
seal of the City of urlin,;ame.
The foregoing, Resolution was duly introduced and a-
dopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Burlin,,aine held on July 20, 1944 by the following vote;

THIS AGRE'wENT, made and entered into this 6th day of July, 1942
by and between the City of Burlingame, a Municipal corporation, the party
o£ the first part, and the Board of Trustees of the Burlingame Elementary
School District, the party of the second part,
W T T N E S S E T H:
Tdi6 MS, the parties hereto are desirous of cooperating for the
purpose of promoting health, phTjioal education and recreation in the City oZ
Burlingame and particularly among children of elementary school ago; and,
T1F1 WJF S, the party of the first part has established a ReoroatiM
Commission for the purposes among others, above set forth; and,
T1M,Ea':S, the party of the second part, has offered to cooperate wilt
tho Recreation Co mission of saiu City in promulgating and carrying out a oo-
ordinated plan_ of health, physical education and recreation,

N017, THERMRE, the said parties to agree between themselves as
1. The party of the second part hereby grants to the part; of the
first part the use of buildings, grounds and oquipment of the Burlingame Ele-
mentary School District, for the purposes above set forth, whenever such use
will not interfere with their use for any other purpose of the publio school
system, or in the opinion.of the 'Trustees of paid District, such use will not
be detrimental to saV., District, or destructive to the property of said Dis-
trict, ordinary wear and tear excepted.
— The party of the fir3t part, by and through the Recreation Com-
mission, and the Suporiutandent of Usersation, hereby agrees to carry into
offset the purposes harein.set forth, in collaboration with the party of the
second part, by and through the Board of Trustees, and the Superintendent of
the Burlingame Elementary Schools, by providi".; such prograns and activities
an said Superintendents may believe to be foasible and desirable.
3. The parties hereto agree that an Assistant Superintendent of
Recreation shall be necessary to take oharge of the added program herein pro-
vided for and that the componsation.for such assistant for the first year
shall be ^ightee %ndrod Dollars (v1804.00), per annura., payable monthly, fto-
half (1/2) of said amount to be pair by the City of Burlingame, end the r
ing ono,.,-alf (1/2) 'ar be paid by the Elementary Sci:ool District.
d. The Burlingame Rocroatio-c. Comm:isaion, by and through the Sup -
or :-,&,=do-ht rt Recreation, shall bo charged with carrying into effect the plan
herein proposed, provided, bnvver, t1w. said Superintendent of Recreation
shall, in all respects, cooperate with the Superintendent of the Burlingame
Elmentary School District ia_ promulgating the program, and that said Super-
intendent and any assistants shall be subject to such reasonable rules and
regulations governing the character of activities and/or the use of school

S. T As agreement may be rescinded by either of the parties
hereto upon giving thirty (30) days r_oUaa of such rsois0ion, and upon the
expiration of said period the agreement shall thereupon be of no further

to be executed, by and through its officers duly authorised thereupon, this
