DECIARING NOXIOUS AND DANGEROUS WEEDS,
RUBBISH, REFUSE OR DIRT ON PARKWAYS,
SIDEWALKS, OR PRIVATE PROPERTY TO BE
A PUBLIC NUISANCE
RESOLI.'ED: by the City Council of the City of Bur
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Burlingame on
November 3, 1947, at a regular meeting of the said Council, a-
dopted a Resolution declaring certain weeds growing upon various
streets, squares, lanes, alleys, avenues, courts and places with-
in said City and upon private property within said City, and
Waich weeds bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature and with such
large growth as to become a fire menace when dry and are other-
wise obnoxious and dangerous so as to constitute a public nui-
sance; and also declared that all rubbish, refuse or dirt on
parkways, sidewalks or private property is a public nuisance and
should be abated by the own rs of the property; and,
WHEREAS said resoLution fixed Monday, the first day of
December, 1947, at the hour of 8:00 ofelock P.M. of said day in
the Council Chambers of the City Council of the City of Burlin-
game, located in the City Hz11 of said City, as the time and
place %.,hen objections to the proposed removal of such weeds and
nuisances shall be heard and given due consideration; and,
WHEREAS it appears that no objections to the said
removal of such weeds were presented;
NOW, TIERE.FnRE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby
by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, that the Superin-
tendent of Streets of the City be and he is hereby directed to
remove and eradicate, or cause to be removed and eradicated, sue
weeds, -rubbish, refuse and dirt, as described in Resolution of
Intention No. 43-47, passed and adopted on November 3, 1947;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of
Streets is hereby authorized and directed to fix the expense
and cost of the removal and eradication of weeds, or the abate-
ment of any nuisance mentioned in Resolution 43-47, and in the
event of any delinquincy of payment of any of said costs to re-
port the same to the Tal. Collector of the City of Burlingame, and
the said Tax Collector is hereby authorized and directed to col-
leet such costs in tip manner provided by law, to wit: to add
the amount of said costs to the rerrular tax bills and to be
collected at the same time as the collection of other taxes in
the City.
I, Herbert N. Wh.ite, City Clerk of the City of Burlin-
game do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on December
1, 1947, and dopted by the following vote:

CHARLES A. WILSON, being; first duly sworn, deposes and says:
That pursuant to the direction of the Superintendent of
Streets, he posted eighteen hundred and fifty (1850) copies of
Notice to Destroy Weeds throughout all the streets of the City of
Burlingame, as per the copy of the notice attached hereto, and
that the posting of these notices was completed on November 25,
1947.
