ORDERING THE ELECTION OF A BOARD
OF FREE HOLDERS TO FRAIr0 A CHARTER
FOR THE CITY OF BURLINGAYiE
WHEREAS, all of the steps prescribed by law have been
followed and duly executed pursuant to an initiative petition
requesting that an election be called for the purpose of
framing a proposed new charter for the City of Burlingame; and
4HEREAS, it appearing that the City Clerk of the City
of Burlingame has certified to the City Council that the
petition requesting the submission of the matter to an election
has been signed by not less than fifteen (15) percent of the
qualified voters of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Burlingame that an election be held on April 9,
1946, pursuant to the provisions of Section 8 of Article 11
of the Constitution of the State of California for the election
of a Board of fifteen (15) Freeholders to frame a charter, and
for the submission of the electors at said election, the
question -
"Shall a Board of Freeholders be elected to frame a
proposed new charter for the City of Burlingame?"
I, Herbert K. white, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced
at a regular meeting of said Council of the City of Burlingame
held on I:iarch 4, 1946, and was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes - Councilmen - Dahl -Harris -Hunt -.loth
Noes - Councilmen - None
,absent Councilmen - _Uhitsell
City Clerk
