ORDERING DESTRUCTION OF
NOYIJUS AND DANGEROUS REEDS
IN THE CITY OF BURLIiGAM
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WIMREAS, the City Council of the City of
Burlingame on February 19, 1945, at a regular meeting of
said Council, adopted a aesolutiou declaring certain weeds
growing upon various streets, squares, lanes, alleys,
avenues, courts and places within said municipality,
and upon private property within said municipality, and
wYa ch said weeds bear seeds of wingy or downy nature and
with such large growth as to become a fire menace when
dry, and are otherwise obnoxious and dangerous, to con-
stitute a public nuisance; and,
rlER A3 , said "esolution fixed tonday, the 19th
day of Larch, 1945, at the hour of eight o'clock ?.I. of
said day, at the Council Chambers of the City Council of
the City of Burlingame, located in the City hall of said
City, as the time and place when objections to the pro-
posed removal of such weeds shall be heard and given due
consiaeration; and,
tHLRFtiA it appears from the affidavit of the
Street Laintenance Foreman of said City that notice of
said hearing has been given for the time and in the manner
and form provided by law; and
dlliuREAS, it appearing that no objections to the
propctied removal of such weeds were presented;
&'ii, TMBEFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED by the v ity
Council of the City of b uriiagame that the Superintendent
of Streets of the City of Burlingame be, and ie is hereby
directed to remove and eradicate, or cause to ce reLioved
and eradicated, such weeds as described in the
Y
Resolution of Intention passed and adopted herein
on February 19, 12,15;
And said Superintendent of Streets of
said City of Burlin,�ane is hereby authorized and
directed to fix the costs of such reiaoval and
eradication of vreeds, and in the event of any de-
linquency of the pa,;nment of any of said costs, to
report the same to the Tax Collector of the City
of Burlingame so tliat said costs may be collected
in the manner provided by law.
I hereby certify the foregoing to be a
true copy of the Resolution adopted by the City
Council of the City of Burlingame, State of
California, at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 19th day of Varch, 1955, by the following vote
of the members thereof.

AFFIDAVIT OF POSTING NOTICE TO DESTROY WEDS
State of California,
County of San Mateo
Edwin Towle, being dzly sworn, deposes and says:
That he posted copies of Notice to Destroy Weeds
throughout the City of Burlinga4e, as per notice attached,
the posting of these notices was completed March 14, 1945.

Notice is hereby given that on the 19th day of February, 1945, the City
Council of the City of Burlingame passed a resolution declaring that noxious
or dangerous weeds are growing upon or in front of property in all streets in
said City of Burlingame in those certain subdivisions of the City of Burlin-
game more particularly described in said resolution, and that the same consti-
tute a public nuisance which must be abated by removal of said noxious or
dangerous weeds, otherwise they will be removed and the nuisance will be abated
by the municipal authorities, in which case the cost of such removal shall be
assessed upon the lots and lands from which or in front of which such weeds
are removed, and such cost will constitute a lien upon such lots or lands until
paid. Reference is hereby made to said resolution for further particulars.
All property owners having any objection to the proposed removal of such
weeds are hereby notified to attend a meeting of the City Council of the City
of Burlingame to be held on Monday, the 19th day of March, 1945, at 8 p. m.
when their objections will be heard and given due consideration.
