HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 046-1948RESOLUTION NO. 46-48 WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Burlingame, a municipal corporation, that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said City, owned by the State of California and) part thereof used by it for purposes of the State Highway, known as the E1 Camino Real, should be annexed and controlled by said City of Burlingame, so as to consolidate said highway within the corporate limits of the city; and WHEREAS, the territory referred to consists of two parcels of land lying adjacent to the El Camino Heal between Dufferin Avenue and Peninsula Avenue, and is more particularly herein- after described; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame, declaring that the said highway should be consolidated within the city limits, does now of its own motion initiate this proceeding to annex to the City of Burlingame said uninhabited territory hereinafter described; NOVJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame, does, on its own motion, initiate this proceeding to annex the uninhabited territory hereinafter described to the City of Burlingame, and its reasons for desiring such annexation are: (1) To consolidate the Highway known as the El Camino Real within the city limits; and (2) to subject said territory to local police control and regulation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the first day of November, 1948, at the hour of 8 o'clock, p.m., on said day, at the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in the City of Burlingame, State of California, be, and the same are hereby fixed, as the time and place, when and where any person objecting, to such proposed annexation may appear and file a written protest against the same; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive Greeks prior to the said hearing, in the Burlingame Advance, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Burlingame® The territory proposed to be annexed is situated within the corporate limits of the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California and is described as follows: Book #p of gaps at Page #43, tiecords of San Mateo County, which point is also in the westerly boundary of that State Highway known as i^l Camino Zeal; running thence on the extension of the southeasterly line of said Lot 31, Block 1, across 11 Canino steal to an intersection with the southwesterly line of Lot S, Block 7, of that Subdivision designated as Burlingame Land Company, as re- corded in frock 43 of Marrs at rage #550, Records of San Mateo Count, which point is also in the easterly boundary of 31 Camino F;aal, a In the true point of beginning for this description; running then in a southeasterly direction along the easterly boundary of :l Camino steal, which boundary is also the southwesterly line of blocks 7 and 8 of the said Burlingame 1,ane, Company Subdivision, t the most southerly corner of Lot 3, block 30 of said Burlingame Land Company Subdivision; thence along the easterly boundary of 91 Camino Real across Bellevue Avenue to the southwesterly corner Lot 11, Mock 10 of the said Burlingame Land Company Subdivision; thence southwesterly fit approximately right angles to the precedt course on a line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 1, block of that subdivision entitled Burlingame Park #2, as recorded in Book H of Maps, at Page 170 Records of San Mateo County, a dis- tance of 40 feet to the center line of ml Camino Meal; thence along said center line of �l Camino heal in a northwesterly direa� tion, a distance of 1128 feet more or less, to an interseotion wi the southeasterly line extended of Lot 31, block 1 of the aforemei tioned Burlingame Park Subdivision #4; thence northeestorly along said lot line extended, a distance of 40 feet, more or less, to V true point of beginning, Zip P2ayor -3- I.
