DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY
DE¶rIAND THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COM-
PLETION OF CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
State of California, that it be, and it is hereby ordered and
determined as follows:
SECTION 1. - That the public interest and necessity demand
the following:
(A) The acquisition of property, construction and
completion of a building thereon, for a branch fire station to
be located in the section of the city north of Broadway; said
building to be equipped with all facilities for living quarters
for firemen therein employed.
The estimated cost of acquisition, construction
and completion of the aforesaid improvement is 456,500.00
(B) The purchase and acquisition for use in the Fire
Department of the following equipment:
1. One 75 foot aerial ladder.
2. Two one -thousand gallon pumpers.
3. One tank or fog wagon.
All of the foregoing being motor propelled.
4. Tools and hose used in the Fire Department.
The estimated cost of the foregoing equipment
is �-69,000.00,
(C) The construction and completion together with the
purchase of the necessary equipment therefor of a drill tower.
The estimated cost of the foregoing drill tower
and equipment is 414,500.00.
(I)) The extension, construction, alteration, repair
and completion of improvements to the present fire alarm system
of the City of Burlingame by enlarging the present switchboard;
the installation of new fire boxes and alteration and repair of
existing fire alarm equipment.
The estimated cost of the construction, acquisi-
tion and completion of all of the improvements herein before
set forth is170,000.00.
(E) The construction and completion in Washington Park
(sometimes called Gunst Park) of a recreational and Community
Center Building; the purchase, acquisition and installation of
furniture and equipment necessary or proper for the recreational
use of said building.
The estimated cost of the construction and
completion of the said building and equipment is 5125,000.00.
(F) The acquisition, purchase, manufacture and
installation of equipment necessary for the complete development
of all recreational facilities in Ray Park.
The estimated cost of acquisition of the aforesaid
facilities and the installation thereof is estimated to be
625,000.00.
(G) The construction and completion of a service
building in the public park in Burlingame Village, to be used
to provide necessary facilities to be used in recreational
activities.
The estimated cost of the construction and comple-
tion of said building is $p5,000.00.
That the cost of projects hereinbefore set forth
and designated as E, F and G is 11155,000.00.
SECTION 2. - That said acquisitions and improvements are
necessary to carry out the objects, purposes and the powers of
the City of Burlingame.
SECTION ,'3. - That the cost of said acquisitions and improve-
ments and each of them, will be too great to be paid for out of
the ordinary annual income and revenue of the City of Burlingame.
