RESOLUTION NO. 84-49
REQUESTING IML-EDIATE COMPLETION OF TIM
BAYSHORE FREEWAY
VZMF,AS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Burlingame that the unpredicted increase in population in San
Mateo County with its attendant use of automobiles on the State
and County Highways has proportionately increased the possibility
of traffic accidents; and
WHEREAS, the Highway Commission of the State of
California, realizing its additional responsibility, planned and
caused to be partially completed the leeway between South San
Francisco and San Jose for the purpose of lessening road hazard
and contributing additional safety in highway traffic; and
WHEREAS, said City Council now believes that such planned
'leeway between San Francisco and San Jose should for the
safety of persons now using said Highway, be projected to its
completion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Burlingame does hereb7 vehemently urge the California
Highway Commission to concentrate its effort toward the immediate
completion of the projected Freeway between San Francisco and
San Jose, thus lessening hazardous traffic and its consequent
loss of life and property.
BE IT j7MTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be sent to the State Highway Commission and to the
representative of the two Legislatures from San Mateo County.

the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting
of the City Council held on December 5, 1949 and adopted there-
after by the following vote:
