Re: Monthly Report
Parks Division
1. Village Park pathway is being repaved
2. California Conservation Corps is working on trail improvements in Mills Canyon
3. Washington Park Playground equipment is being installed and project is still on
schedule to be opened in April
4. Arbor Day celebration was conducted at Bayside Park on March e. Students from
each of the elementary schools took part in the celebration and 6 redwood trees
were planted.
5. The Pershing Playground Committee has been selected and will be meeting shortly.
Two neighborhood residents will be serving on the Committee.
Recreation Division
1. Teen Dance had 340 7th/8th graders in attendance and netted a profit of $1,300
2. 34 teens attended a ski trip in February and another is scheduled for later this month
3. BIS enrichment program this week began with computer classes being taught by
BIS teacher, Greg Barnes
4. Began registration for BIS spring sports programs
5. Completed a very successful 4a'/5th grade basketball season
6. Adult softball, basketball and women's soccer leagues are now underway
7. Senior Trip to Lion King is full
